Sources we use
We rely on primary sources only: USCIS (including Form G-1055, the fee schedule, and form instructions), the U.S. Department of State, the Department of Labor and the Executive Office for Immigration Review. We do not cite forums or social media as fact.
How facts are checked
Fees, form editions, deadlines, phone numbers and processing information are stored in one fact file with the source URL and the date checked. Every page renders these facts from that file, so a correction updates the whole site at once. If we cannot verify a figure, we leave it out and point you to the official tool instead.
Updates
We re-check pages when USCIS publishes a new fee schedule, form edition or policy, and at least every quarter. Each page shows the date it was last reviewed.
Independence
We are not affiliated with any government agency. We do not accept payment to change what a page says.
Corrections
If you find an error, write to us through the contact page. We review every report and correct confirmed errors promptly.
